The Grimsby Energy Summit on Nov. 13 will tackle rising energy costs and supply challenges amid projected demand growth.
The Grimsby Energy Summit on November 13 will address rising energy costs, supply challenges, and the need for businesses to adapt to a changing energy landscape. Organized by Ward 1 Coun. Reg Freake, the event at the LiUNA training centre will feature panels on energy technology, AI, climate risks, and on-site generation and storage. Key participants include Ontario’s electricity system operator, the Nuclear Innovation Institute, and major local energy users like Kit Steel and Andrew Peller Ltd. With Grimsby’s electricity demand expected to grow by 50% or more in the next two decades, local utility Grimsby Power says it can meet demand for at least 20 to 25 years. The summit aims to equip stakeholders with tools to navigate future energy shifts.
