B.C. government workers vote on a deal ending an eight-week strike, with a 3% annual pay rise and better job protections.
British Columbia government workers represented by the BCGEU began voting on a tentative agreement reached after an eight-week strike that disrupted services like liquor and cannabis store operations.
The deal, which includes a 3% annual wage increase over four years, improved job protections, faster grievance resolution, and expanded remote work options, was announced on November 7.
Voting, conducted through Simply Voting, ran from November 6 to 13, with results expected soon.
Union leaders credited member resolve for securing the agreement, which follows a major demonstration of about 10,000 workers in Victoria.
The outcome will determine whether the deal is ratified.
