A Bareilly court has denied bail to Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan and five others in connection with violent clashes on September 26, 2025, sparked by "I Love Mohammad" posters.
The court, led by Additional District and Sessions Judge Amrita Shukla, ruled that Raza incited a crowd at Islamia Maidan despite prohibitory orders, leading to a mob attack on police, stone-pelting, and theft of a rifle and wireless equipment.
Ten FIRs were filed, naming over 125 individuals and identifying more than 2,500 suspects.
Raza, in custody since September 27, faces charges from both the recent violence and earlier incidents tied to the 2019 anti-CAA-NRC protests.
The case remains under judicial review.
