Bangladesh boosts Japan-bound worker program with new agreements and training centers.
Bangladesh is stepping up efforts to supply skilled workers to Japan, which is projected to need 11 million foreign workers by 2040.
On November 7, 2025, the Bangladeshi Embassy in Tokyo hosted a seminar in Nagoya with around 250 agencies from both countries, supported by Japan’s JITCO.
Senior officials highlighted Bangladesh’s surplus of 25 million working-age people, 33 training centers for Japan-bound workers, and a new “Japan Cell” to coordinate efforts.
Four agreements were signed between recruitment firms, and officials stressed adherence to labor standards.
Meanwhile, Japanese investment in Bangladesh remains strong despite political changes, with companies expanding operations and planning new ventures, though delays in permits and corruption remain challenges.
