Vietnam saw a 19.7% surge in new businesses in 2025, driving job growth and advancing its semiconductor ambitions.
In the first ten months of 2025, Vietnam launched 162,900 new enterprises, a 19.7% increase from the same period in 2024, with total registered capital reaching nearly 1.6 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about $60.8 billion), up 21.4%.
The average capital per new firm was 9.8 billion dong ($372,400).
Over 967,000 employees were hired by these new businesses, and the manufacturing sector showed strong momentum, with the PMI rising to 54.5 in October.
Vietnam also advanced its semiconductor strategy, aiming to launch its first chip factory in 2026.
