Tajikistan’s Somon Air ordered up to 14 Boeing jets, including its first widebodies, to expand international routes and modernize its fleet.
On November 6, 2025, Tajikistan’s Somon Air announced a major fleet expansion, committing to up to 14 new Boeing aircraft, including up to four 787-9 Dreamliners and ten 737-8 MAX jets, marking its first widebody order and largest-ever fleet commitment.
The deal, signed during the C5+1 Summit, aims to modernize its all-737 fleet, enable new intercontinental routes from Dushanbe, and improve fuel efficiency by 20–25%.
The order supports Somon Air’s international growth strategy and is expected to create over 11,000 U.S. jobs.
