A Scottish woman faces a second arrest warrant for skipping court after pleading guilty to extorting £6,350 via a fake pregnancy scam.
A 29-year-old Clydebank woman, Georgette Ravette, faces a second arrest warrant after failing to appear in court for sentencing in a fake pregnancy scam that led to the extortion of over £6,350 from a 25-year-old man she met on Kik in 2023.
Ravette, who pleaded guilty to extortion, falsely claimed she was pregnant and pressured the victim into paying money for pregnancy tests, hospital stays, and a termination, threatening to inform his mother and claiming her cousin would harm him.
The victim, frightened by threatening messages and voicemails, including one stating she knew his location, contacted police.
Ravette was arrested on the first warrant, granted bail, but did not attend the follow-up hearing, prompting a second warrant.
Her lawyer could not explain her absence.
