Scottish band Kai Reesu wins 2025 Scottish Album of the Year Award for debut album Kompromat Vol. I.

Glasgow-based hip-hop band Kai Reesu won the 2025 Scottish Album of the Year Award for their debut album Kompromat Vol. I, a genre-blending work combining jazz, hip-hop, psychedelia, and grime with live instrumentation and narrative storytelling. The win, announced at Dundee’s Caird Hall, included a £20,000 prize. The Scottish Music Industry Association also honored KT Tunstall’s 2004 debut album Eye to the Telescope with the Modern Scottish Classic Award, recognized during the event with a performance by Tunstall. The ceremony highlighted Scotland’s musical diversity and innovation.
