Over half of Bihar’s unrecognised political parties failed to file financial disclosures for 2023–24, with 163 of 275 reviewed parties not submitting audit reports or donation statements above Rs 20,000, according to an ADR report.
Only 67 parties provided both reports, collectively reporting Rs 85.56 crore in income and Rs 71.73 crore in donations.
The Samata Party (Delhi) had the highest income at Rs 53.13 crore.
Thirty-two parties were de-listed for inactivity or non-compliance, including one that earned Rs 10.66 crore over five years without contesting elections.
Among parties not contesting elections, total five-year income was Rs 1.52 crore.
Donations were a primary funding source, with the Aam Janmat Party and Prabal Bharat Party receiving over 99% of donations from 14 parties that filed only donation reports.
