Omar Abdullah campaigned in Budgam, pledging education, cricket, and free electricity, ahead of November 11 bypolls.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah campaigned in Budgam ahead of the November 11 bypolls, backing National Conference candidate Aga Syed Mahmood Mosavi.
He pledged new educational institutions, a cricket academy, and free electricity for up to 200 units monthly, but only for households with installed meters.
Abdullah highlighted ongoing talks with the BCCI to boost cricket infrastructure and urged voters to reject opposition promises, citing past failures in delivering benefits despite meter installations.
The bypolls follow the resignation of Abdullah and the death of BJP’s Nagrota MLA Devender Singh Rana.
In Nagrota, Shamim Begum of the NC faces BJP’s Devyani Rani, with Congress withdrawing its candidate.
Budgam has 20 candidates, including contenders from PDP, BJP, and AAP.
Results are set for November 14.
