Kyron Kofie, 24, pleaded guilty to stealing a crate of lager from a B&M store and assaulting a shopper at a nearby Tesco in Chippenham on October 16, 2025.
The incident, captured on CCTV, involved Kofie arguing with a customer and swinging at his back, though no injuries were reported.
He was arrested soon after and admitted to both acts.
Kofie, who had prior convictions and was already on a community order with only one of 15 rehabilitation sessions completed, cited job loss, alcohol struggles, and boredom as contributing factors.
On November 4, he was sentenced to a 12-month community order, 10 rehabilitation days, and 80 hours of unpaid work.
