The DOJ is probing John Brennan over alleged false 2023 congressional testimony about the CIA’s use of the Steele dossier in 2016.
The Justice Department is preparing to issue grand jury subpoenas in a South Florida investigation into former CIA Director John Brennan, focusing on allegations he made false statements to Congress in 2023 about the CIA’s handling of the Steele dossier during the 2016 election.
The probe, led by U.S. Attorney Jason Reding Quiñones, stems from claims that Brennan misled lawmakers about the agency’s role, despite evidence showing he supported including the dossier in the intelligence community assessment and overruled senior analysts who opposed it.
The investigation follows a referral from House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan and is part of a broader effort to examine actions by Obama-era officials related to the Russia probe.
Brennan has not been indicted, and the DOJ has not commented.
