Bulgarian firm Buildcom acquires 91% of Romania's Argus Constanța, a major oil producer, in a deal backed by a RON 100M loan.
Bulgarian firm Buildcom EOOD has completed acquiring 91.42% of Romania’s Argus Constanţa, a vegetable oil producer founded in 1943, from Infinity Capital Investments.
The deal, approved by shareholders in October 2025, includes a loan of up to RON 100 million to refinance debt and support operations.
Buildcom, linked to Bulgaria’s largest sunflower oil producer, gains indirect control of Comcereal Tulcea through the acquisition.
Meanwhile, OMV Petrom plans to cut about 1,000 jobs—10% of its workforce—by 2027, with half already implemented, as part of cost optimization amid low oil prices and energy market shifts.
The company, majority-owned by Austria’s OMV Group, continues restructuring to improve efficiency and support its transition to lower-emission energy.
