B.C. leads a trade mission to Japan and South Korea to boost timber exports and reduce U.S. market dependence amid tariffs.
British Columbia’s Forest Minister Ravi Parmar is leading a seven-day trade mission to Japan and South Korea starting November 8, aiming to diversify timber exports and reduce reliance on the U.S. market amid ongoing softwood lumber tariffs.
The delegation includes First Nations leaders, industry representatives, and Alberta’s Minister of Forests Todd Loewen.
They will meet with government officials and visit major wood manufacturers, following the opening of a Forestry Innovation Investment office in London to expand global trade.
The initiative supports B.C.’s sustainable forestry sector and strengthens international partnerships.
