Two Afghan men convicted of 35 burglaries in London using Grindr to target victims.
Two Afghan men, Rahmat Khan Mohammadi, 22, and Mohammed Bilal Hotak, 21, have been found guilty of using the dating app Grindr to deceive male victims in London, gaining entry to their homes and stealing phones, money, passports, and other valuables.
Between October 2024 and March 2025, they committed 35 burglaries and 20 frauds targeting 22 victims.
Mohammadi was arrested April 3, Hotak April 24, both charged with theft, burglary, and fraud.
The Metropolitan Police launched the investigation after repeated reports of similar thefts with a consistent pattern, describing the crimes as premeditated.
Authorities praised victims’ cooperation and highlighted support from the LGBT+ Advisory Group and charity Galop for sensitive handling.
The men are set to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court.
