Sony launched a major update for the PlayStation Portal, enabling cloud streaming of PS5 games for PlayStation Plus Premium members. The feature allows users to play thousands of titles—including major exclusives like Astro Bot and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth—directly from the cloud, eliminating the need for a nearby PS5. The update includes a redesigned interface with dedicated tabs for Cloud Streaming, Remote Play, and Search, along with 3D audio support, passcode lock, network monitoring, in-game purchases, and enhanced accessibility. While the device remains dependent on a strong Wi-Fi connection, the upgrade transforms it into a standalone portable gaming option.
