Samuel Platt, 35, was arrested in downtown Fargo on November 4, 2025, after barricading himself in a bathroom stall and allegedly pointing a loaded flare gun at police officers. Officers used pepper balls and a less-lethal projectile to subdue him without injury. He was found with methamphetamine and a knife, and is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction. Platt, who has no permanent address, was medically cleared and booked into Cass County Jail on multiple charges, including unlawful firearm possession, terrorizing, and drug offenses. The flare gun and additional flares were seized. This marks his second arrest in 2025 for threatening police.
