A NSW woman faces 11 charges after 30 racehorses were found dead or severely emaciated on her farm.
A New South Wales property owner, Taran Kelly, faces 11 charges including aggravated cruelty and failing to provide veterinary care after a joint investigation found dead and severely emaciated former racehorses on her farm.
Racing NSW records show 30 thoroughbreds were transferred to the property in the prior year, with at least two found dead and one, Buzz Bomb, in critical condition.
Kelly, not involved in racing, will appear in court on November 27.
Racing NSW, which cannot act against non-racing individuals, placed her on an excluded list and examined the phone of a licensed foreperson, Samantha Murphy, who facilitated horse transfers and allegedly discussed sending horses to a zoo.
The RSPCA has enforceable directions for horses remaining on the property.
