A 32-year-old man was shot by deputies in Almont, Lapeer County, after allegedly opening fire at a business Wednesday morning, prompting a pursuit that ended near Sutton and Wilder roads. The suspect, who fled the scene, was located by Imlay City Police, led officers on a chase, and was shot multiple times before being taken to a hospital in stable condition. Five patrol vehicles were damaged, and three officers were injured. Two deputies involved have been placed on paid administrative leave. Almont Police confirmed no ongoing threat to the public. The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police are jointly investigating, with a report to be sent to the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office upon completion.
