Kofi Agbavitor was arrested for stabbing D-Black to death; a mob stormed the police station demanding his release, injuring officers, wounding a woman, and destroying the building.
On November 3, 2025, Kofi Agbavitor was arrested in Ehi-Zongo, Ghana, over the stabbing death of 32-year-old Julius Sablah, known as D-Black, who suffered a fatal neck wound.
Agbavitor later arrived at the Ehi Police Station armed with a cutlass, claiming he sought refuge from a mob.
When youth demanded his release, they attacked the station with stones, injuring two officers, striking an unidentified woman with a stray bullet, and setting the building on fire with petrol, forcing an evacuation.
Reinforcements were repelled, and the station was destroyed.
Agbavitor was hospitalized under guard at St. Anthony Hospital in Dzodze as investigations continued.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Rev.
Martin Amenaki, condemned the violence, denounced mob justice, and urged community cooperation with authorities to restore order.
Security forces are working to maintain stability and uphold the rule of law.
