India and Peru to hold talks ahead of 2026 trade negotiations, building on progress in Lima.
India and Peru have agreed to hold intersessional meetings ahead of the 10th round of trade negotiations set for January 2026 in New Delhi, following substantial progress in the ninth round held in Lima from November 3–5, 2025.
Talks covered trade in goods and services, rules of origin, technical barriers, customs procedures, dispute settlement, and critical minerals.
Both nations highlighted economic complementarity and the potential to boost bilateral trade, with India exporting $1.002 billion and importing $4.91 billion from Peru in 2024–25.
India also concluded the third round of negotiations with Chile, focusing on investment, intellectual property, and supply chain resilience, as part of its broader push to strengthen economic ties with Latin America.
