Delhi High Court to rule on Dabur’s bid to block Patanjali’s ad calling rivals’ products "deception."
The Delhi High Court has reserved its order on Dabur India’s petition seeking to block a Patanjali Chyawanprash ad that labels competing products as "dhokha" (deception or fraud), with the court questioning the use of the term as derogatory.
Dabur argues the ad falsely disparages its brand and the entire chyawanprash market, harming its 61.10% market share, while Patanjali’s counsel claims the ad is protected hyperbole promoting their product’s superiority without naming competitors.
The case, which highlights tensions over comparative advertising in India’s consumer goods sector, is set for hearing in February 2026.
