Afghan man arrested in Denmark over alleged plot to attack Jewish targets in Germany, linked to Iranian intelligence network.
A man from Afghanistan, Tawab M., was arrested in Denmark on suspicion of plotting attacks on Jewish targets in Germany, German authorities said.
He allegedly promised in May to obtain weapons for a third person to carry out attacks, linked to a network involving a Danish man, Ali S., who is accused of gathering intelligence on Berlin’s Jewish community, possibly for Iranian intelligence.
Tawab M. has a prior history of acquiring weapons and explosives.
He faces charges of agreeing to incite homicide and will be extradited to Germany for a hearing on whether to hold him pending formal charges.
The case comes amid heightened security for Jewish and Israeli facilities in Germany following recent tensions with Iran.
