Washington County voters approved a senior services tax levy but rejected one for the Board of Development Disabilities, while a library levy was invalidated due to ballot errors and will be resubmitted in May.
In Marietta, incumbent Mayor Steve “Thunder” Tumlin narrowly won re-election over 24-year-old challenger Sam Foster, with final unofficial results showing Tumlin leading 51% to 49%.
Foster, a systems engineer and progressive backed by Democrats, conceded but highlighted growing demand for change on issues like housing and transit.
Voters also elected new city council members, unseating two incumbents in the 1st and 4th Wards.
In school board races, three candidates won seats in Marietta City Schools, while other local boards saw mixed results, with some races still pending provisional ballot counts.
