UAE’s first private LNG/LPG terminals, worth $8B, to boost low-carbon fuel exports by 2033.
AD Ports Group and Nimex Terminals have signed a AED 30 billion ($8 billion) deal to build the UAE’s first private-sector LNG and LPG terminals at Khalifa Port, supporting the country’s Net Zero 2050 goals.
The five-year project will expand the port’s capacity for low-carbon fuels, with initial operations starting by mid-2028 and full operations by 2031 for LNG and 2033 for LPG.
AD Ports will invest up to AED 1.3 billion in infrastructure, while Nimex will contribute up to AED 2.6 billion for storage, regassification, and safety systems.
The terminals will serve Asian markets and enhance global trade connectivity.
