Broadcasters across the Middle East and North Africa are increasingly teaming up with established streaming platforms instead of launching their own OTT services, as seen in Abu Dhabi Media’s new exclusive deal with STARZPLAY.
Under the agreement, ADM’s 5,000+ hours of Arabic-language content will be available only on STARZPLAY’s ad-supported tier, helping ADM reach 2.6 million subscribers without building its own platform.
The move mirrors similar partnerships in Europe and reflects a broader trend to expand audiences, boost revenue, and reduce fragmentation.
Omdia says such alliances are becoming key to sustainable media ecosystems, with more expected in the region over the next 18 months as ad-supported streaming grows in importance.
