The Miami Marlins have hired Chris Hess and Corbin Day as assistant hitting coaches, both making their MLB debut. Hess, 30, previously worked with the Red Sox’s Double-A affiliate, while Day, also 30, served in advance scouting and game-planning for the Twins in 2025. Derek Shoman is leaving to become the White Sox’s lead hitting coach, and Pedro Guerrero is expected to return as lead hitting coach under manager Clayton McCullough, forming a new three-person hitting staff.
