Kosovo's president assigns Vetëvendosje's Konjufca to form a government amid deadlock, with 15 days to gain support.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has tasked Glauk Konjufca of the Vetëvendosje Movement with forming a new government after previous attempts failed.
Konjufca has 15 days to secure support from at least 61 of 120 parliamentary members.
The move follows consultations with party leaders, none of whom proposed an alternative.
Vetëvendosje, which won February elections but lacks a majority, aims to govern without coalition partners, citing lack of cooperation from other Albanian parties.
Other parties have called for new elections, while Konjufca seeks to avoid a December vote and prevent a double election cycle before April’s presidential vote.
