Ireland has approved a Digital Public Services Plan to deliver all key public services online by 2030, including a national digital wallet to securely store major life events like starting school, getting a driver’s license, starting a business, becoming a parent, or retiring.
Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers secured government backing, directing all departments to review laws and propose changes needed for the digital shift.
A dedicated Public Services Digital Transformation Fund will provide financial support.
The initiative aims to reduce administrative burdens, improve service integration, and enhance citizens’ quality of life through a more user-friendly, digital-first approach to government services.
