Conducted by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the sweep involved over 500 vehicle contacts and 209 commercial vehicle inspections.
Authorities emphasized that only legally present individuals capable of understanding English may operate commercial vehicles, citing public safety concerns.
The operation follows a similar effort in September that led to 120 arrests, including drivers with criminal records.
The state’s expanded 287(g) agreement now grants all 750 Highway Patrol troopers federal immigration enforcement authority.
