Democrat Michael Cashman wins NY's 115th Assembly District special election with 19,435 votes.
Democrat Michael Cashman won the special election for New York’s 115th Assembly District, leading Republican Brent Davison with 19,435 to 17,821 votes based on unofficial results from all 91 districts.
The race, triggered by Democrat Billy Jones’ resignation in September, drew higher-than-usual turnout, attributed to multiple contested races and local concerns including prison conditions and the state’s HALT Act.
Cashman will serve a one-year term before facing re-election in 2026.
The district includes Clinton and Franklin counties and parts of Essex County.
