Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are in talks to reprise their roles as Rick O’Connell and Evelyn Carnahan in a new Mummy film, according to Deadline.
The project, being developed by Universal Pictures, is described as a direct sequel to the 1999 and 2001 films, disregarding the 2008 installment.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence are set to direct, with David Coggeshall writing the script.
The film marks a revival of the franchise, aiming to return to the blend of action, humor, and adventure that defined the original trilogy.
A separate Mummy film is also in development by Warner Bros. for release in April 2026.
