Waymo is launching driverless taxis in San Diego, Las Vegas, and Detroit, using electric vehicles with advanced self-driving tech.

Waymo is expanding its driverless taxi service to San Diego, Las Vegas, and Detroit, following testing in those cities. The company will use a mixed fleet of electric Jaguar I-PACE and Zeekr RT vehicles equipped with its 5th- and 6th-generation self-driving systems. While operations in San Diego and Las Vegas are set to begin soon, Detroit service is expected this winter, pending regulatory approval. Waymo already operates in Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco. The expansion aims to improve urban mobility, accessibility, and sustainability across diverse environments, including winter conditions in Detroit.
