Sarnia man sentenced to nearly 5 months in jail for assault with a weapon and breaching court order.
Albert George, 46, of Sarnia, was sentenced to just under five months in jail after pleading guilty to breaching a court order and assault with a weapon on June 21, 2025.
Police arrested him near Exmouth Street and Copland Road after recognizing him as a fugitive on outstanding warrants.
During the arrest, a fixed-blade knife—classified as a prohibited weapon—was found on him, though his lawyer described it as a modified foldable pocket knife.
George resisted arrest and reportedly threatened an officer, though the death threat was not addressed in court.
He also admitted to breaching probation in two prior cases, including an assault at a shelter.
The Crown had sought a six-month sentence, but the judge imposed a sentence just under five months.
