On November 3, 2025, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw chaired a meeting in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, reviewing progress on semiconductor and display fabrication projects by Tata, Micron, CG Semicon, and Kaynes in Dholera and Sanand. Pilot production has begun at Kaynes and CG-Semi sites, Micron’s mini-plant is ramping up, and the Dholera fab is advancing, with three of the four plants nearing full production. The government emphasized infrastructure progress in power, water, and logistics, and reaffirmed 24/7 support from central and state agencies. The meeting highlighted India’s growing global attention in semiconductors, with the country making strides since launching the India Semiconductor Mission in 2021, including the production of India’s first domestic chip in August 2024.
