Nigeria will implement new tax reforms on January 1, 2026, introducing 50 exemptions and reliefs to support low-income earners, small businesses, and average taxpayers.
Individuals earning at or below the national minimum wage or up to N1.2 million annually will be fully tax-exempt.
Key benefits include tax-free pension contributions, retirement benefits, job loss compensation up to N50 million, and capital gains on home sales and personal property up to N5 million.
