Nebraska Senator Dan McKeon faces calls to resign after a public indecency citation from a May party incident, which he denies.
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has urged State Senator Dan McKeon to resign after a public indecency citation linked to an incident at a May legislative party, calling the alleged conduct “serious” and “unacceptable.” The citation, a Class II misdemeanor, stems from an allegation of inappropriate contact at Lincoln Country Club.
McKeon’s legal team denies the claims, calling them false and politically motivated, and says he plans to defend himself, possibly through a defamation suit.
The senator, known as “Dirty Dan,” has not publicly responded, and no resignation has been announced.
He is scheduled to appear in court on December 10.
The situation remains unresolved as of November 3, 2025.
