India's top court clears trial of Mumbai attacks suspect Abu Jundal, ending a six-year delay over secret document dispute.
The Bombay High Court has cleared the way for the trial of Zabiuddin Ansari, alias Abu Jundal, a key suspect in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, by quashing a 2018 lower court order requiring disclosure of sensitive travel and arrest documents.
The high court ruled the order violated principles of natural justice and national security, allowing the prosecution to proceed without releasing passport, flight, and immigration records.
Ansari, accused of training attackers, planning the assault from Karachi, and coordinating the 166-person attack that killed 166 people, was arrested in Saudi Arabia in 2012 and deported.
The trial had been stalled since 2018 over the document dispute.
El máximo tribunal de la India autoriza el juicio del sospechoso de los ataques de Mumbai, Abu Jundal, poniendo fin a un retraso de seis años por la disputa de documentos secretos.
