The Indian Supreme Court has launched suo motu action after scams using fake court orders stole nearly ₹3,000 crore, mostly from elderly victims. Calling the fraud a grave threat to public trust, Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi vowed to act with an “iron hand.” The court sought state reports and may hand the probe to the CBI, citing the scam’s nationwide and cross-border reach, with a follow-up hearing on November 10.
