India and Romania have agreed to facilitate the annual movement of about 30,000 skilled Indian professionals to address Romania’s labor shortages, which require roughly 100,000 non-EU workers yearly.
The agreement, reached during the 19th India-Romania Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation meeting in Bucharest, aims to strengthen bilateral ties through skills-based migration, mutual recognition of qualifications, and potential social security cooperation.
Both nations also discussed fast-track employer processing, standardized contracts, vocational training, and expanded collaboration in education, research, and innovation.
