Emirates rolls out facial recognition at Dubai Terminal 3 for Skywards members, enabling passport-free travel.
Emirates has launched a facial recognition system at Dubai Airport’s Terminal 3, allowing registered Skywards members aged 18 and over to move through check-in, immigration, lounges, and boarding gates without showing passports or boarding passes.
Using over 200 cameras, the system, part of an AED 85 million investment with Dubai’s GDRFA, matches biometrics with existing records or creates temporary profiles for new visitors.
Registration is available via the Emirates app, kiosks, or counters, with consent required.
Eligible travelers include UAE and GCC nationals, and visitors with biometric passports.
The system, operational since 2017, aims to streamline travel, reduce wait times, and enhance security.
