Dale Mosher, 65, pleaded guilty to stealing over $100,000 from the Geneva American Legion, facing up to 9 years in prison.
Dale Mosher, 65, former commander of the Geneva American Legion Post 396, has pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny for allegedly stealing over $100,000 between January 2017 and May 2023.
He faces a potential prison sentence of three to nine years at a January 22, 2026, hearing.
As part of the plea, Mosher must repay restitution not covered by insurance and is barred from contacting certain individuals, including those he allegedly threatened by mail.
The case, investigated by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, led to a manhunt after Mosher skipped court and fled to Pennsylvania, where he was arrested at a Walmart.
Acting District Attorney Kelly Wolford said the plea allows the American Legion to refocus on serving veterans and children.
