Canadian Natural Resources boosts 2025 output forecast after acquiring Alberta oilsands mine from Shell.
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. has raised its 2025 production outlook to 1.56–1.58 million barrels of oil equivalent per day after acquiring full control of Alberta’s Albian oilsands mine from Shell Canada.
The deal, finalized after an asset swap in January, added about 31,000 barrels per day of bitumen, marking a roughly 15% increase from 2024.
The company kept its 2025 operating budget at $5.9 billion, citing strong execution and capital discipline.
CEO Scott Stauth credited the progress to team performance and strategic moves.
Results for the third quarter are set for release on November 3, 2025.
