British Columbia appoints two new judges to enhance access to timely justice.
British Columbia has appointed Diba Majzub and Megan Olson as new Provincial Court judges, effective November 24, 2025, to improve access to timely justice.
Majzub, based in Port Coquitlam, brings over two decades of criminal law experience, including federal prosecution and UN work in Kosovo, and holds a master’s in international criminal law.
Olson, serving Smithers, has practiced criminal defence, worked with Indigenous communities, and served as a family mediator and managing lawyer at the Parents Legal Centre.
Appointments follow a process led by the Judicial Council of B.C., which evaluates candidates for qualifications, diversity, and regional needs before recommending them to cabinet for final approval.
Judges may use technology and travel to meet court demands.
