The Assistance Fund launches aid program for MacTel patients to cover out-of-pocket medical costs.
The Assistance Fund has launched a new financial aid program to help people with macular telangiectasia (MacTel), a condition causing central vision loss, cover out-of-pocket medical costs like copays and insurance premiums.
The program supports individuals with type 1 or 2 MacTel, often affecting middle-aged adults, and aims to reduce financial barriers to treatment.
Funded by donors, the initiative is part of the organization’s broader effort, which has assisted over 210,000 patients since 2009 through more than 100 disease-specific programs.
Eligible individuals can seek help by visiting tafcares.org or calling (833) 998-8514.
