A 9-year-old child witnessed a murder-suicide in Flowery Branch, Georgia, on November 1, 2025, when a 51-year-old man shot and killed a 50-year-old woman before fatally shooting himself. Deputies found the woman dead at the doorway and the man dead in the basement from a self-inflicted gunshot. The child, unharmed but traumatized, hid in a closet and contacted a friend via FaceTime, leading to a 911 call. Authorities have not released the victims’ names, their relationship, or the cause of the incident. The child was placed in the care of a relative by the Department of Family and Children’s Services.
