A 19-year-old Mooresville man, Gabriel Cline, was charged after a Saturday night crash on NC 801 that injured a Mooresville police officer.
The incident, reported around 9:38 p.m., involved Cline’s northbound Toyota Camry veering off the road, crossing the centerline, and striking the officer’s southbound patrol vehicle.
Both Cline and the officer were hospitalized but later released.
Cline faces multiple charges, including driving while impaired, driving under 21 with alcohol, felony serious injury by motor vehicle, reckless driving, possessing an open alcohol container, and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was released on a $10,000 secured bond.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is leading the ongoing investigation.
