The crash occurred around 1:40 a.m. when the man, traveling north on Woodrow Wilson Street, attempted an unauthorized U-turn across the freeway and was struck by an eastbound SUV driven by a 32-year-old Detroit woman. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
