A UK woman endured years of pain after a dentist drilled healthy teeth for a needless bridge, settling for £17,000 without an admission of fault.
Sadie Hobson, a 47-year-old Bolton farm worker, says a 2022 dental procedure led to years of pain and trauma after a dentist allegedly drilled four healthy teeth to fit a bridge she didn’t need.
Despite repeated complaints and worsening symptoms including chronic inflammation and food trapping, her concerns were dismissed.
A second opinion confirmed a defective bridge and severe gum damage, with one dentist describing gaps as large enough to drive a bus through.
In June 2025, she settled her case for £17,000 without the dentist admitting fault.
Experts say the harm could have been avoided with proper care.
Now fearful of dental visits, Hobson avoids public spaces and considers seeking treatment abroad.
