Two men stole a scissor lift in Cork, drove it through city streets, and were arrested without injuries.
Two men, aged 20 and 31, were arrested in Cork after stealing a scissor lift and driving it through city streets on Sunday night, November 2, 2025. The vehicle, taken from St Patrick’s Quay around 8:30 p.m., was driven across Mary Elmes Bridge and through major roads including Grand Parade and St Oliver Plunkett Street, crashing into bollards before being stopped at a police checkpoint on South Gate Bridge. Video footage showed at least one man hanging off the back. No injuries were reported. Both suspects were taken to Mayfield Garda station for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. Forensic teams are examining the lift, and the investigation remains ongoing.
